The tour today took us past the Chiang Mai Hotsprings, to the boarders of Burma & Lao's.
This Northern area of Thailand is called the Golden Triangle where Thailand, Burma & Lao's come together at the Mekong River.

Preparing to board the boat to take us to Lao's.

Entrance to Lao's where we spent an hour shopping in the market.

The contrast is extreme along the Mekong River within a mile of this village was a big modern Casino on the Burma border.

Standing in Thailand looking across the river to Burma.

A moment of rest on the border with our new friends, a small (Burmese) begger boy, Allan & Karen (from Ireland) they had been travelling for a couple months and gave us a whole bunch of tips of where to go and what to see.
