Merbok River Cruise - Fish Farm

The fish farms were very interesting. The huts were on floating structures with cages to keep the fish and crabs.
These soft shelled crabs are a delicacy in the restaurants around Asia. They deep fry the entire crab and you eat the whole thing !
This man spends his life on the farm looking after the fish and crabs. he lives in a tiny hut with 2 cats and a very few belongings. There was a sleeping mat rolled in the corner of the hut.
And a good size ........the fish are.
It was a great spot to stop and experience the life on a fish farm.
If you look real closely you can see the monitor lizard in the bottom right corner of the picture. They are hard to capture on film & very shy. We also saw monkeys , storks and beautiful eagles.
