Day 3 - Continued - Just across the bridge from our pension and through a hillside area of old Greek houses started the Acropolis and our 3 hour hike. We were amazed that we were allowed to just walk all over the hill side through all kinds of ruins. Most people only visit the very top of the hill so miss 1/2 of the ruins on the lower part.
From the library area you can see the Temple of Trajan.
The Theatre Terrace with 10,000 seats.
Mark Anthony actually stole many of the books form the Library and presented them as a gift to Egyptian Queen Cleopatra.
Marble Columned Temple of the Trajan - the only Roman structure surviving on the Acropolis.
