Till a couple of years back there was a strong hype surrounding the industry of hotels in Hyderabad industry that the industry won’t be able to cater to the growing demand over the years. But now the hype seems to be just an assumption and the current scenario of the Hyderabad hospitality is speaking a different story altogether. Apart from the budget hotels and the business hotels in Hyderabad, the 5stars and 4stars have been badly hit by the global economic crash down. The budget hotels in Hyderabad and the business hotels are still having a favorable time due to the rising economic fortunes of the city. Though these hotels have also seen a downfall in the number of visitors in the recent times. The occupancy ration that reigned high at 80-85% a few years back have come down by almost 10% to 70-75% recently. The boom of the IT industry in Hyderabad resulted in unprecedented economic growth and Hyderabad soon became a hotshot tourist destination too. This boom in tourism resulted in all the big brands of the hospitality industry queue up to open properties here. However, the times have changed and the 5stars and the big brands are the first and the most badly hit.
